What is Pilates?

Joseph Pilates created the method in the 1920s, which he called “Contrology.” Pilates is a system of exercises that focuses on control, breath, precision, centering, flow and concentration. It includes mat work and different apparatus like the Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Ladder Barrel.

In my classes and sessions, we build a strong foundation and continue to build on the Pilates basics of proper breath, body alignment and core strength. You will find muscles you never even knew you had, gain flexibility and strength while feeling more connected to your body and your mind. I believe Pilates truly is for everybody and that’s part of the reason I love it so much. Whether you’re new to Pilates or an avid practitioner, you are in the right place!
